The Engen Modular Upper Extremity Orthotic System, designed in the early 1960’s by Thorkild Engen C.O., has been successfully used by thousands of patients over the past forty years. It is designed and intended to assist the patient in their rehabilitation and return to independence. The ability to grasp objects to perform basic tasks may be one of the most critical aspects of upper extremity rehabilitation. These devices used in combination with good occupational therapy training can go a long way toward bringing victims of accident and disease back to productive members of society.
